There is no mercy in this game as humanity is beset on every side by threats of the heretic, the mutant, and the “Xenos”. Prepare yourself for a battle unlike any other and fight for the future of humanity in Warhammer 40,000.
To play a game of Warhammer, you must first choose which mission to play. The mission will describe how you should muster your armies, create your battlefield, and deploy your armies. It will also give you information about any special rules that apply to your battle and what you need to do in order to win.
Each player will command an army of Citadel miniatures during any game of Warhammer 40k. Your mission will dictate how big your army should be. A good measure of army size is its Power Level. This is determined by adding up the Power Rating of every unit in your army. This information is located on a datasheet.
All battles are fought upon rectangular battlefields. Your mission will guide the size of your battlefield, but it will be consistent with the size of the armies you are using. It’s important to keep in mind that each battlefield will be populated with different terrain features.
In order to fight a battle, you will need a set of six-sided dice, the number of which may vary based on your army. If you see a rule which requires a 3-sided dice, you must divide your result in half and round up.
